My 2 favourite cars when I was 10 years old,

and at that time my dad had just changed from a Fiesta to a Citroen BX estate!

What's your memories?

In that colour, with the black vinyl roof. Still one of my very faves, I'd be damned if I'll be affording one anytime soon though frown

^This

My Dad had just bought a brand new Ph1 one and took it up to 110 on the motorway and I was absolutley blown away by it - Plus it had electric windows and plip central locking - the first car I'd been in with either.

my dad had one of these, it lived in a farm pen eternally waiting for bits to keep it from falling apart, had three seats up front and compared to all the local tractors felt like a spy sitting in it, always amused me and my mates when we were 10.

I too had a white countach poster, along with a compusary black panther one...

I encountered one in person for the first time at the age of 9 and for the next few years it was the be-all and end-all of my car dreams... ^_^

Tough one this as it was 1978 and my influences were somewhat limited by television, the cinema and Matchbox / Corgi.

Top of the list was the Ferrari Daytona 365 GTB/4 from The Gumball Rally, closely followed by the Lotus Esprit from James Bond 'The Spy Who Loved Me', I never did find out where the little red missiles went once they had been fired across the living room carpet and bringing up the rear was the Starsky & Hutch Ford Gran Torino....a great toy car, that took a real battering.

Mine had to be the Jaguar XJ220cloud9, but then it's been my favourite of all time. There was also the CLK GTR, and the MG Montego. But the MG is another story.

This all the way for me, still is to be honest, The F1 and F40 were good, but this was a bit different, so low slung and aerodynamic, don't think anything has quite matched it for looks yet.

Edited due to election coverage fatigue with added specialness.

That because the top speed was amazing for a very old car.
Although i ridiculed it for "only having 4 gears"
and

, as said in the Unloved supercars/ Forgotten supercars thread.
Not bad choices really, both where in a school project i did when i was 10 on "cars" laugh

Yeah that was a bit special, I was sending it to a friend whose studying part II architecture, we tend to share examples of well drawn clear diagrams etc. I'm not some weird deep sea drilling fetishist, it is all very interesting though, if thats your bag then pop over here; http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Some very interesting contributions.

Ferrari F40 as posted, and also the Porsche 959. My dad had a What Car magazine comparing them both and I used to read the article over and over again!
