Just been to pickup a parcel from the sorting office and parked outside. Was coming out and a postie was walking back to his van (had to park in road as the gap wasn't big enough) and as he walked between my car and his van he keyed the left-hand corner of the boot and left a 10" scratch. I shouted him and he claims it was an accident. The delivery office manager has taken the details and is going to phone customer services as he's not sure what to do.

I am in the process of getting repair quote and am considering contacting RM myself to "log it" with them. Can't beleive someone could do this.....

p.s postie told manager it was his bag....

I think because he had to park his van on the road as the parking space wasn't big enough.

But if hes already admitted that it was him (whether it was his bag or not) then you just have to claim from them ?

Did you just call his daughter fat?
well i dont know if she is or how old she was but one would assume a daughter that requires carrying would leave one of a persons two arms free to strike said posty in the back of the skull

This is exaclty what happened to my Brother 2 weeks ago in London. Postie said he should move his car; Brother refused. When he came back; postie had the cheek to leave a note on his windscreen reminding him that he had a nice new line on his car (year old BMW). Brother complained to post office, they said it would be impossible to match handwriting to any particular postman, despite fact that Brother said it would have been one that was doing the rounds in that particular place at that time. In your case it would be rather nice if you could find out if postie had a nice car...

Pursue the Post Office for the cost of the repairs. The employer is vicariously liable for the actions of its employees. You have the story and the note.

Ok I've finally got through to RM on the phone and have logged the incident. I now need to send two quotes to the free post address and they'll pay for the repair.
