Hi,

I'm going to the West End next thursday evening to watch Wicked. The train ticket price is eek so was planning on driving to near a tube station and parking.

Which southerly tube stations have decent parking? Proximity to the A3 is a bonus.

Cheers,
Chris

Probably not a lot of help to you at all.. in fact i dont think it is..

I always park near the O2 at greenwich as there is an all night car park around there for £5 - always works a treat when popping into the city for the evening..

If not could you park somewhere around Wimbledon and tube it in from there? I'm sure you can park up near Wimbledon Audi just off Kingston Road or possibly New Maldon but have not been that way for a good couple of years now

East Putney? A lot of post 16.30 and post 18.30 parking available there.

Right off the A3 too.

Wimbledon Park station - Specifically Home Park Road - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&a... - ~5min walk, after 3pm its free. I use it all the time smile

There is stuff even closer to Victoria as well. But this would mean you will need to drive further into London.

I always used to dump the car somewhere down a side street in Surbiton. Sorry if you lived there, but I pay RFL n'all

Stay on the A3, go over Vauxhall Bridge and park near the theatre. Quite a few pay-by-phone bays around there, if you arrive after 6:30 it's free, else it'll only be £2-3 an hour if you're earlier.

http://www.park-up.com/ shows all the bay locations - postcode for the theatre is SW1V 1LG.

Thanks for the suggestions so far guys.

I don't mind driving further into london, but wouldn't want to risk not getting a space?

You sure you're going to save money by using the tube?

Tube for two of you will cost at least £10, more if you haven't an oyster card.

I live near victoria and after 6.30, there are many roads which parking is readily available and free.

Morden station has lots of free parking nearby and it's fairly easy to get to. Plus you could even borrow my oyster card if you want it.

Morden is Ok but its not on top of A3, but your looking at 45 or somins on tube each way + drive from tube + Parking I would say a good hour, I would drive up and park in the free after 6:30pm bays by the Old Bailey

Loads of them there all the time after 630pm and close enough to walk / catch a cab

There is a multi-storey next to Richmond Tube Station. It's where we park if we ever go into London...

Thanks, this worked out perfectly biggrin

I drove into the congestion charging zone at 18:01 & parked about 30 second walk from the theatre, did not expect it to be so easy! There were plenty of spaces. I paid for parking by phone, needed 11 minutes (I was being watched by a traffic warden) which cost about 30p.

All totally painless, made for a lovely evening smile
