Looking to replace the fronts on a Fiesta before long, and want to find a good, but not overly expensive set of tyres...

Since I bought the car, I've had Avons on the front, which did the job well enough, but out of the following, which would you say are best?

  • Tigar Hitris
  • Marangoni Verso1
  • Firestone 300
  • Uniroyal Rainexpert
  • or buy another set of Avons
On another note, the car came with "Admirals" on one side of the back and "Extensa Sava" on the other side, so would I be right in guessing these are typical ditchfinders?

Thanks smile

Avons are good but for light cars I have always stuck to Toyo T1R's

If you can't afford proopertyres for the front then whatever you do don't buy "cheap" ones unless you're absolutely skint. Even then it would be worth looking at second hand instead.

With "less expensive" tyres you will still get good grip but the tradeoff is generally shorter life. Will depend on the car nbt say 15,000 miles instead of 25,000. This seems to be the picture with Falken and Kumho anyway.

Mmmmmm.... nice! rolleyes

Of those you mentioned I'd go for the Uniroyals. Should last a billion years on a Fiesta and they are good in the wet.
