Was watching the new Wheeler Dealers earlier and drooling over the Interceptor, bloody awesome cars and i think they look soooo cool.

Got me thinking about more realistic GT's and how they are percieved today. As i've said elsewhere i currently have a 928 which i'm selling and will then be getting an XJS.

I can't actually recall the last time i saw one in the metal but i know if i did then i'd definitely give the knowing nod of approval. The same would go for a BMW 6 series, always loved those too.

So what would your first thoughts be on seeing the above tomorrow say? they would both be clean and very tidy examples (lets say facelift and highline too, respectively for the Jag and BM) Also what do you think the non PH masses would think? old bangers or maybe "cool retro"?

Two designs that have aged beautifully and are now achingly cool

The kind of general public that'll look at the XJS and the 6series and think they are old bangers, their preception of beauty and desireability are obviously different to mine I won't be worrying too much about it.

A friend of mine bought a 1994 XJS 6.0L V12 three years ago, and loves it to bits.

On the whole it is a "good un" and took some finding (and negotiating!)

As with all cars of this status and era, they do have the ability to perform open wallet surgery though.

These cars are just dated bangers they don't have all the modern technology that is absolutely essential these days, Multiple airbags , dynamic this that and the other, no hid or led lights, far too simple.
I'd have one in a flash!

To be honest i've fallen out of love with it a bit. I love it as a piece of design, but i'm not using it enough to keep it and it needs new tyres soon plus a few other bits. I really don't use it very much at all and just fancy a change, when i bought it i was thining of an XJS and so now is the time!

Beautiful. If I had the spare cash I'd have that from you right now.

She is stunning, really can't believe the old girl is 26 years old!

You wouldn't believe the grief i've had trying to sell her though. On ebay at the moment and the current winning bidder came and looked at her yesterday and he was smitten! so fingers crossed! For a reserve of 3k i don't think im being greedy, especially as i've spend nearly 5 on the old thing!
