fitting bucket seats and harnesses

looking at building a track car but needs to be road legal so i can drive it on the road too, seen some seats and 5 point harnesses i want but just wondering if you have to get someone who works for a garage or something to fit them and check that they are all okay? many thanks

You don't, however, for christs sake make sure that the seat mountings are secure, in fact, fabricate some proper seat mounting boxes for the bars to sit on mounted directly onto the chassis (rails I assume?).

I'd be wary of thrashing a car with only buckets, harnesses and no cage. If you roll it and the roof caves in you won't be able to duck/get thrown out of the way and will be held in position whilst your head acts as the roll cage.
Just some food for thought.
