Watching the news tonight, there was something political going on, didn't quite catch it. Gordon Brown's got a new cat or something?

Anyway, on to more important stuff. When Gordon went to see The Queen to tell her all about his new cat, hew was in a blue Jag, and I'm sure it was old style W reg plate, something like W272XYZ or some such. Meanwhile "Call me Dave" Cameron had a brand spanking new 10 plate silver Jag, with not very hidden special lights behind the grille.

So what's that all about, Crash Gordons car didn't look that old, it looked like a current series Jag (although they all look the same anyway), but the plate didn't look like a personal plate.

Oh, and Cameron's Jag had thick black edging around the windows. Bullet proof glass maybe?

winky's jag was also bullet proof, with the hidden flashing lights etc. Given the cost of replacing them, they don’t tend to swap them out too often

IIRC the bullet proof jags are part of a pool of cars used by senior government figures, more a case of the luck of the draw rather than preferential treatment

Quite right. They dont want the single bullet to the temple escaping the cabin and hurting an innocent member of the Public, do they?

I noticed this and smiled. But I do expect it's simple luck of the draw.

And what's wrong with a beautifully maintained and looked after W-reg Jag. Nothing at all.

It looks a little "has-been" next to Cameron's brand spanker though doesn't it..?

Perhaps someone at the ministry has a sense of irony... biggrin

Both cars are custom bullet proof XJ's

The vehicles do very little mileage really and with the cost of each vehicle they dont tend to replace them all too often really..

the fact cameron was in a 2010 Older shape XJ was quite interesting though, obviously there hasnt been any development on the specialising the latest XJ yet..

Maybe he likes the smell of old Jags. Many people do.

I suspect he has stuck with that car for a specific reason. Probably because it's built to individual spec (and I'm not talking options boxes at the dealer here...) and cost a small fortune.
