0828: I understand that the Lib Dems' Chris Huhne will be the environment and climate change secretary in the new cabinet, reports the BBC News channel's chief political correspondent Laura Kuenssberg.


Wonder who's up for the transport post and what polices they jointly agreed on?

They've updated their ticker to say it's "Energy and Climate Change" (which I believe already existed), this is a separate dept to DEFRA (Environment, Farming & Rural Affairs).

Promise me he wasn't the one who came up with that stupid '4X4 supertax' idea (the memory of which prevented me from voting Lib Dem)? Every time someone mentions the Lib Dems I think of some poor bd out in the middle of Dartmoor with a foot of snow covering the unmetalled track down to his farmhouse trying to tackle it in a Prius...
