Burberry, a prestige and exclusive fashion house, have had their image - or perceived image - seriously tarnished by mongoloids buying their products.
What cars can you think of who have had their image ruined by the perception they're bought and run by buffoons, oafs and dunderheads?

Not sure where you're going with this. Could end up offending a lot of people.
That was pretty much the goal
But in all seriousness, I only asked after reading the Saxo VTS thread. Whenever I see one, I know it's a fun and snappy little hatch which is a hoot to drive but the illogical part of my brain is shouting at me, telling me it's an horrific chavwagon.
Bentley definitely.
No-one in their right mind up to the '70s would dare attach a bodykit, dodgy wheels and bolt-on exhausts to one in a mistaken belief that their 'taste' was somehow better than the most tasteful of British marques and designs.
I suppose Bentley's descent began in the '70s, when the Arabs started buying white ones, and in the '80s you saw plenty of colour-coded red and white turbos with bodykits, but the Continental really has devalued them.
Ironically, Rolls-Royce has gone from being the brown, vinyl-roofed choice of racist comedians with velvet suits, frilly dress shirts and bowties like Swallowtail butterflies, to far cooler and more upper-crust than Bentley could dream of these days.
Aston Martin are going that way, BMW were always part-way there (never forget that in the '70s the 1502 was merely an alternative to a Taunus (Cortina) in Germany) but back then people didn't dress the base-model 1502 up to look like a 2002 Turbo, so the 'aspirational' bulls
t hadn't quite attached itself to the marque yet.
Audi's an odd one. They started out back in the '60s with some good-looking, refined FWD 5-cylinder saloons, then VW, desperate for a Beetle replacement, bought into them and 'downgraded' several models and stuck VW badges, engines and names on them. For a while you could even get Audi versions of the Polo (50) and Golf GTI (80 GTE). Nowadays they've been joined at the hip for so long that I only consider an Audi a true Audi if it's got a Quattro system and an engine you wouldn't find anywhere else.

I was chatting to a friend the other day and he mentioned he'd never buy an Imprezza or Evo due to the chavvy image...
Certainly Bentley are now the footballers choice in two door form. I seem to remember seeing a programme about Paul Raymond with him driving about in a four door Bentley...
Anything MX5 shaped is seen as a hairdressers' car rather than an exciting small sportscar.
Perhaps best not to mention pretty much ANY 4x4 to certain sections of the population.

Older Imprezas I'm sorry to say. I think they come with a free staffy these days.
ETA: P1 excluded.
RB5? 22B? i think you will find most of these cars are owned by enthusiasts and regulars on the appropriate owners clubs websites. if you go to a club meet you would see this.ETA: P1 excluded.

but yes i do see a few poorly modified (graphics, poor paint jobs, blacked out windows, larger than standard rear wings, lexus lights etc) examples of imprezas but almost all are imports or low spec ones and not often the limited edition ones.
Some chavs have moved from there french to the jap... now its near impossible to find a honda civic or integra which hasn't been molested!!! Although in saying that there are still many enthusiasts... A pitty really... got a few friends who got rid of there integras and went german because they started seeing them driven by burbery capped Nation!
OK, maybe not a brilliant car, but there are many enthusiasts around, the MG ZR/ZS are IMO really good cars, but because of such cheap prices, decent performance, they've found there hands into the chavs...
Chavved up escorts, seen top spec escorts with so much bodykit and bling on them i'm surprised it still moves! I personally dont blame the chav, but the previous owner who sold it to them!!!
But most of all i agree with RAWWWW, Saxo's have been ruined, and because they are so much fun, i feel hard done by....
But NOTHING will stop me getting a nice Impreza or Evo though! NOTHING!!!
On another note, saw a quite bonnie girl the other day driving a R32 Nissan Skyline GTR in white, it was like sex on sex for the eyes!

It did stop me unfortunately. I'd love an Evo or even a nice spec STi. A proper focussed drivers car where you can take massive liberties and still come out looking like a rally-god. I just couldn't face the image attached to them though. 9 times out of 10 you know they're driven by people with a bad fringe, too much wet look hair gel and a big gold curb-link chain on top of their Bench sweater. As such they've become completely classless cars.It was the same story with my old FIAT Coupé 20VT. I bought one, only a couple of years old, low mileage, standard, well-maintained. It was a fantastic car, never let me down, fun, safe FWD handling with the LSD. Being a FIAT though the prices plummeted so that today you can pick up one of these 220bhp cars for a grand. The secret was spilled, many were (and still are) bought by the modders and chavs. I saw them with ironing boards bolted to their bootlids, chrome alloys, and nearly always showing the telltale puff of blue smoke on downshifting. I didn't want to be associated with these people so I sold up and moved on. It's a shame because the forum (and club) was, and still is to some extent, a great place to be with lots of really good guys, but these are the old clan holding on and riding the storm of chavdom being thrown at them.

well i fear you may never get to own a car again as unfortunately there are always idiots that will buy any make/model of car and ruin it. you name it and some idiot will be out there ruining it.
Quite possibly, but with Imprezas, Evos and indeed the FIAT Coupé it is commonplace and therefore that image is attached to these cars, regardles of whether your model is modded or not. Whilst money and taste do not always make good bedfellows I'm pretty happy with my Z3M Coupé, being individual in standard factory trim and rare enough so that it does not have a reputation for being owned by the Untermensch.

Many of the many black Range Rover Sports in London do the car no favours at all....What cars can you think of who have had their image ruined by the perception they're bought and run by buffoons, oafs and dunderheads?
Most E36 3 series now seem to have been ruined, and there are increasing numbers of ropey late 90s E Class mercs that bring shame on the 3 pointed star.
Shame about Imprezas too - an early WRX estate could be a fantastic family car.

The two cars that best fit your description IMO are:
Evos and the Scoobies.
Both marques look like they were designed by a 13 year old boy with a wing and duct fettish. God awful looking things if you ask me.
and yet you have owned one? and now drive even uglier cars?Evos and the Scoobies.
