Quick question what time will dartford crossing be quiet?

Basically doing Kent > Essex and can either hit the tunnel at 5.30 or 6.30...

...those of you who are regulars, which is likely to be quieter?

I'm assuming that it's getting busier at 5.30 and beginning to quieten down by about 6.30...
...but you lnow what they say about assumptions!

The honest answer, unless those times are AM, is that both will be chuffing awful.

I'd aim for 5:30 (or earlier if possible) though, IME it will be slightly better. The jams there will be no-where near clearing by 6:30.

I have been doing essex into kent for the past 2 years, during the morning if you have made your crossing by 7.30 am great ! Anything later than that u till 9.30 ish its hell, on a friday, from 2 the traffic builds up either side for at least 5 miles, takes average an our kent to essex but I have had 3 hour crossing times also, glad I don't have to do it anymore !

Cheers Mr Will, I'll be going round the back way, so I should bypass most of the st, but if it's going to be no better at 6.30 than 5.30 I'll try to get it all out of the way asap!

You should be ok at 6.30 if kent to essex.

Its the other way round thats the problem. If traffic is building then drop off at m2 roundabout and take the slip road off that runs alongside m25. Over the roundabout back down onto m25 gets you a couple of 100 metres away quickly.
