I live in devon and just googled "MX5 hire" thinking I might get a little something interesting and cheap for a weekend run out. Turns out there are none to hire. Which has set me thinking, could I have discovered a niche market in cheap performance hire. Would you hire a Mk1 MX5 for £189 for a long weekend?

Definately.. If you hired it out each weekend it'd only take 6-7 weeks to get the money back.

Their fun, very fun, but in a weekend and not being your own I don't think you'd enjoy it as much as the 'normal hire cars' (Ferrari etc)

You realise if you get a positive response, you've just told everyone on here about your idea. Better get setting it up quickley!!

If I had money to spare I think it would be something i'd splash a little bit of cash on.

Sorry dude, but I wouldn't pay close to £200 for an MX5 over a weekend.
Especially when you can buy a MK1 for around £600-£800.

FYI, Morgan in Exeter hire out their cars, Classic Cars of Bodmin do it & i'm pretty sure there are a couple of small garages around here hiring out things like MK1 Boxsters.

I'd imagine the insurance would be a killer, so you'd probably be better off doing it with something presitge IMO.

At least that way you could cover the Wedding Hire market.

Good idea but a bit steep. I'd hire a Caterham instead, ohh yesss.
