According to the MID database this is a 2.0 Petrol 2008 Focus Zetec Climate. I've tried to get insurance for it and although it's got a couple of mods I thought I'd be cheeky and not declare them.

Maybe it's the estimated value I entered into confused.com of £750,000 that's stopped most insurers quoting on it. However, the Co-op have offered a VERY generous £412 per year with just £150 excess.

Oh yeah, here's the car... wink

Seriously though - these cars are roadworthy so who insures them and do we reckon they declare their "mod's"?

Probably someone like this: http://www.thedavisgroup.co.uk/dcr_motorsport.htm

The teams will need to have all sorts of insurance in place, I suspect that cover for use on the roads is a very minor part of it. Obviously the cars will be fully legally covered, but I doubt they'll need to give a comprehensive list of mods, it'll be done on a value of the car basis.

Interesting that they are listed as standard cars (with aircon!) - I assume they are built seperately from the other cars or do they genuinely take a basic chassis off of the production line?
