Hyundai Coupe 1.6.... depressingly slow or not?
Discussion
Hey all
There's a black 1.6 litre Hyundai Coupe SE for sale locally, the 2000 reg one with the circular headlights, 60,000 miles and full service history for £2100. On first sight, I find them a pretty ugly car but slowly been growing on me each time I go past it. Personally I think a little overpriced for what it is, but could get it down a little. I know they are slow... but do they really feel that sluggish? Is it worth looking at under closer inspection or should I just totally give it a miss? I think I can already predict the responses I'm likely to get
There's other cars of similar nature up for sale in the area. one in particular being a well looked after ford cougar 2.0 with full service history and similar mileage for £500 less, for example. In my opinion, that would fare myself and my boyfriend better as a slightly "different" runabout than the hyundai. I know its wallowy and heavy but you don't see many about.
I'm used to a 1.6 focus 3dr at the moment, and by my standards, that is a little too sluggish for the roads around here (too many tourists driving at 40mph with little overtaking places!) so thats a useful comparison for the coupe's performance specs.
