I need to insure my car for one month as im moving cars, house & jobs and changing the information on the policy, as well as moving insurance from a small cheap car to a much larger one (double the power etc) is proving far to difficult.

Can anyone recommend a good supplier of 1 month car insurance?

thanks guys

On the same page.. are there any who offer short term insurance with a named driver under 21?

You could also take out insurance.. and cancel it after a month? But if you bin it, you'll have to pay the entire thing.. hmm..

A good question, have found myself in a similar position before. Right now I'm in the position of wanting insurance for 4 months!

I haven't found a way to get insured on a short term basis without getting completely and utterly burgled. It just seems to be the single day rate, multiplied by however many days you want it, minus a little bit. Hum.

Any short term car insurance experts?

So far i have had 2 quotes of over £500 and the third over £275. I only paid £350 for last year, with full protected NCB, full legal cover and £75 cash back. frown

Swiftcover will cover me for the year at £315 so might give them a ring and ask about how much it will cost to cancel after a month. This is an utter joke!

edit:
For those interested, you might have more luck then me. I've ran quotes through:
www.TempCover.com
www.finance-1.co.uk
www.dayinsure.com

Just been doing some googling (as I should have done before before posting duh) and found these guys, have run through a quote for 234 quid a month on a 1.6 1997 polo, I'm 24 with 3yrs ncb but 10 points. However, I noticed I can add the lady friend on and it bumps the price up to just 250, seems very reasonable for both of us seeing as she's only just passed her test!

ecarinsurance wont cover me until I am 25. No wonder people drive without insurance, this is utterly ridiculous. frown

I have no idea, for 1 month insurance it says over 25 only?

As for rest of info, saxo 1.1, 5 years NCB, b post code etc. I only need it for a month until i get a bigger car (Citroen c5 2.2HDi touch wood).

The silly thing is i can either have a year of saxo insurance for £315 with swift cover (silly excess though) or £600 for the C5 for a year, with protected NCb, legal, £350 excess etc...but the cheap C5 insurance is more then double that for the saxo...and the cheap saxo insurance is over three times that for the C5 if i was to change cars...

Theres just no winning! frown

I'd be very suprised if you can find one, I couldn't when I needed it.

Would it not be cheaper to take a 1 year policy and then cancel after a month?

Just dont tell them you are going to cancel after 1 month. It will cost you about 1/12th of the total plus a bit for administration purposes.
