OK I want one. It's that simple. Preferably in black with red leather. Phwoar, yes. But I'm not ultimately fussed.

I know there's quite a few people on here who own them, so I was hoping you'd be able to share your ownership experiences?

Things I'm most interested in:

Economy on a long motorway run
Refinement on the motorway
Reliability / unexpected costs
Should I definitely buy a facelift?

Economy on a long motorway run 29-34MPG depending how much fun you have. 24MPG thrashing the st out of it everywhere.
Refinement on the motorway Fine, some wind noise(remember this design is OLD now). Tyre noise on concrete M Way surfaces.
Reliability / unexpected costs DMF/clutch-£1000 odd. Apart from that seem fine. Bottom end failure can & does happen.
Should I definitely buy a facelift? Which one? There was three, one in 2003 when you got the nicer dash & 6 speed MMT6 trans, then again in 2005 which added things like puddle lights in the mirrors, chrome trim & new side skirt design. Then the final one that added red stitching & extra 220 badge in the grill in addition to this.

Motor house Cannock had a nice performance blue on on an 07 plate with low miles for £10k.
Try & get one with the toch screen sat nav-makes the dash look so much better! oh, and VED is over £400 for the late ones!
