I noticed that my car has an area of faint scratches on the fron of the bonnet. They don't feel like they have any depth, if you run the back of your nail over them you can't feel anything.
They are noticeable though if you look; the area is about 150mm2.

Is there any product I can use to get rid of them? Don't know how they got there. They weren't there last time I cleaned it.

Cheers

T-Cut etc is a bit harsh.

If they are that faint get some autoglym super resin polish (the stuff with the red label).

This is mildly abrasive and also has fillers in.

work the area with consistent pressure, no need to push really hard. Work it in and then buff off - you might want to do it a couple of times to get rid of the scratches

Clay bar would not do anything - its designed to remove contaminates from the paintwork - would not do anything on scratches

Best bet is to get it machine polished

yes

Had this on the bonnet of my old M3. It appeared that a couple of foxes used it to launch themselves through the hedge. I believe the scratches were just in the clear lacquer coat and ScratchX sorted it out after a couple of applications. I was really rather impressed.

+1

Depending on if your paint is hard or soft, it can also get out deeper scratches. It also removes swirls from the paint's finish. Amazing stuff I highly recommend it.
