Volvo C30 T5 .... thoughts please...

.... been looking at a hot hatch and was thinking of the above what are your thoughts my all be it brief research it would appear that the same engine that is used in the Focus ST. But the styling just a little more interesting and a little from the left.

What your thoughts on this or an alternative?

It's a bit too try-hard isn't it? It wants to be a lifestyle car whatever the fk that is. Get the Focus, Ford won't rape your wallet as much. The ST is a car to be driven hard, the C30 is a supposed fashion accessory made by Volvo's marketing people.

Check out evo.co.uk, I'm sure they ran a long-termer a little while ago, might give you a bit more to go on. Have to say I like how they look, but would always be nagged by the feeling that Focus ST would be a cheaper and better to drive alternative
