Surprise at KwikF**

Took my bike to one, minus an exhaust clamp. Got one for free. Very much impressed. Bought the man a pint (not literally) as I couldn't find a clamp elsewhere and this was a random act of kindness. Has made me think they aren't all bad. If any Kfit manager types are reading, I say that this is the sort of thing that will make me take the car to them to see if they can make up for any former misdeeds!!! forgive & forget.
I went to wash my little bike in town and had a flat, the guys at a leading tyre chain that might like fast car based motorsport gave me some wind and were very helpfull. Great, thinks I, I'll take the car there.
Car needed 2 new front tyres and off I set.
"2 tyres for the car please, sir and make them nice ones"
"care for an alignment check, it won't cost anything if there is nothing wrong"
"go on then"
They then beckon me over and point to imminent front shock failure and a broke cv boot. The tyres tyre were duly put on. They then tried to bill me for the alignment adjustment that didn't need doing and tried to flog me a new set of shocks.
I get home and see that although the new tyres are the same size and brand, they are different tyres and the grease dripping down the shocks had splattered up from the ripped CV boot, not down from the shock. It passed the MOT 2 days later with a new pair of CV boots and no advisories on the shocks. And passed again a month ago, still no word on the shocks.
