White... with black bits, nice spoiler on the back.

Absolutely marvelous and has spent the day driving round today in the sun. It just looks 'right' - I WILL own one at some stage. Wonder if they'll do it £5k down and £400 a month laugh

I'd rather have one of the hot rods on the adverts.

Have you noticed how they have altered the advert and removed the shot of the rear of the "name i've forgotten" hotrod setting of towards the R8.

It's possible - if he was down that way?

What was it like to drive? What have you driven which was better, and why?

Hate to say it... but i found it a bit boring compared to the F430 and Gallardo. Having had an S3 at the time i drove it, it just seemed pretty much the same but faster and nicer sounding. It wasnt a patch on the V10 howl of the Gallardo and the interior of the F430.

At least it shows a bit more imagination than a 911, I suppose.

The only thing clinical about an R8 is the execution.

Superb and exciting chassis - check
Superb and exciting steering - check
Superb and exciting gear change (R-Tronic excluded) check
Superb and exciting interior - check
Superb and exciting styling - check

It isn't going to break down and it isn't going to fall apart, but in my book that doesn't count as 'character' laugh

Make sure said neighbour gets invited to the BBQ wink

I drove one at one of these track days and I have to say I really did enjoy it. More so than the Gallardo. Gallardo, it's hard to explain, seemed much more effort. The R8 just seemed easier to sit down, start up and enjoy.

Having said that, I enjoyed my time on the track in the V8V more than both of them. Does that make me weird?

Subjective of course but I'd have to disagree on that one, superd styling yes, exciting, when compared to a proper supercar? Not really.

Nope. It just looks like a TT to me. A bit like someone had gone to halfords and stuck a few bits and bobs on their TT...
