Tyres for Nissan 350z

I have a Nissan 350z and want to change my tyres. The O.E tyres are 225/45/18 front and 245/45/18 rear. I dont have a problem with the rears but I find the front fitment quite limiting. I recently saw a 350 in a carpark with 235/40/18 front tyres on it and they were Goodyear F1 GD3,s . I am a bit concerned about changing the rolling radius of the wheel as the V.D.C. system moniters wheel RPM and could cause a derate to occur. Its only a small reduction in size by 45mm rolling radius.
