Sad sad sad, I You Tubed Ariel Atom Track Lap and saw this sad clip. The car would most definately be a CAT-D write-off.
But if some was to buy it from a salvage company and repair it, how much work would be need to put it back on the road? What would one have to budget?

I think youd be nuts to even consider it, the water damage may not show imediatly, but given time you may have trouble with electrics, the parts will be expensive, and dragging it over boulders wont of helped.
And you could question how it had been driven before it went for a swim.
Add to that it would be catC/D (if its not cat A/B) so would be really hard to sell.

I once got sent a link to a bloke on one of the Audi forums who'd recovered an RS2 from a canal and rebuilt it. Slightly o/t but it's doable if you don't mind an epic amount of work. And you could question how it had been driven before it went for a swim.
