Evening all,

I'm just coming off a car leasing scheme and need to get a cheap motor for around £2-3k. Now I've looked around and like the look of a VW Golf or perhaps an Audi A4, but I keep coming back to looking at Mondeo's as they seem to be a lot of car for the money

Now a good few years back when I bought a previous car, I went shopping and looked at a Mondeo, took it for a drive and it was great fun and nice and comfy, etc. Generally a pretty good everyday motor. However I couldn't bring myself to buy a it and promptly bought a 406!! In comparison it was ok, but not as good as the Mondeo,

So I guess the question is, does anyone else have a fear of being 'Mondeo Man'?

Or is it just me and time I got over it.....

My dad had a 406 and replaced it with a mondeo (due to a numpty "borrowing" his mum's car and crashing head on into my dads car rolleyes), got a 1999 plate mondeo as his company car is the current shape mondeo and thoroughly likes both of them as they are good cars! to many stereotypes connected with what car you drive these days find what you like and enjoy it!.

Awesome car, never breaks, can do any job you want it to, will last for years and plenty of spares around for cheap fixes.

Make sure you get one with gaffa tape on the bumper. This is mandatory for all Mondeo's.

Yep - ran one over the winter as my winter time motor ans was quite stunned by it despit emuch ribbing from SWMBO about being Mondeo man, I actually enjoyed it as a motoring experience in terms of reliability, cost etc.

Very tempted to run another this winter.
