Driving to the M25 this morning through Potters Bar. There are two lanes of traffic up to some traffic lights; One for straight on, one that goes left towards the M25. I was sitting in queueing traffic in the left lane with a transit pick up to my right. The lights go green and traffic starts to move. Then a brain dead moron in a power ranger outfit appears around the front of the transit. I had to break sharply to avoid hitting him. I flashed my lights as I first saw him as I though he couldn't have seen me. He then starts the whole go slow / staring me out thing. My only crime? Not knocking him off his bike.

I'm not sure about statistics, but wonder how many accidents these nutters cause? They seem pretty much immune to the law as well. When was the last time you saw a biker pulled over? When was the last time you saw a biker obeying the speed limit, in fact when was the last time you saw a biker obeying any road laws? Yet when you hear them talk it's like they are the only ones that know what they're doing on the roads.

Utter bell ends.

Note: If you are a responsible law obeying biker the above comment doesn't apply to you.

Sadly, because like every other person on the road, they're just human.

There's a fair percentage in all segments (except PH members of course! wink )

Proper bikers aren't a problem, its the weekend fair weather riders who are a pain in the arse because they hardly ever ride and just dont have the experiance. When they go out they go full throttle with no regard for any one else. Ok, I know this isn't true 100% of the time, but unfortunatly it is with a lot of them.

fully agree, tonking it up to 60+ in a 30 zone to overtake is less safe in a bike than a car, not more, but it is ridiculously commonplace in bikers. You may be ABLE to undertake, weave in and out of traffic and generally nail it everywhere, but that doesn't mean you can. I am ABLE to get a high calibre rifle and pot shot you through your pink helmet with the devils horns, but that doesn't mean I will. Maybe.

If the biker was experienced, they would have realised their mistake and nailed it into the distance, with maybe a quick wave to say sorry. I've got myself into awkward situations whilst filtering through traffic and usually quickly right my wrongs and get the hell outta there (I commute into West London daily). I would never hang around squaring up to other motorists - what a noob.
I think the silliest mistake I made was just last week, when I cut across a stationary car to get into another lane and managed to stall the engine just as the traffic started moving...yeah, that was a little embarrassing - luckily the driver was laughing and gave a thumbs up!

Generally, most bikers know that they're going to come of worst so tend to take more care.

However, there are some future organ donors that need some extra training!
I started to type out a tale from Sunday, but can't be arsed!!

Never, and never.

But it's true, Rob.

BTW, I ride all year round.
