Little t
t up the road has put a 'sports' exhaust on his gay plastic moped thing, sounds like the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse, how can such a puny f
king engine make so much f
king noise? and why do the little punks keep revving the f
kers, blipping the throttle a zillion times a second? I imagine it's given the thing a boost in power from spectacularly poor to just plain embarassing.
Is there a limit to how much noise one little s
t can extract from such a dismally awful form of transport?

This does of course depend on exactly where the main restriction takes place - but more often than not the exhaust is a good starting point.
I don't know about now - but in the 70's when my late brother was a biker - his first 50cc 2 stroke had quite a bit of power liberated by simply removing the internal baffle.
He did the same thing with his bigger 2 strokes bikes as well.
And yes - the noise if irritating to say the least - we have one or two where I live as well.

They do it because they are young and like loud things.

t can extract from such a dismally awful form of transport?I recall riding my 125cc 2 stroke bike without an exhaust at all and it took about 10 minutes before even my 16 year old ears started to practically bleed from the racket this thing was producing. Loud just doesn't cover it, although in my defence it was in a field with nothing around for miles.
