Trundling up the M5 last night to collect a client and saw another Audi approaching me at speed, probably about 90 leptons. It was a black S5 and as it passed my foot twitched as whether to go and "have a play" but then decided I could not be bothered.

A few seconds later a Silver Octavia VRS went past, also at speed with little hidden blue lights and two gentlemen in dark clothing chasing the aforementioned S5.

I am so glad I did not rise to the bait. smile

Not sure how a car aproaching you at speed is baiting you.
If he'd slowed down and then booted it as you tried to overtake, yes, but just going past you ?

Honestly though an S5 v a 3ltr TDI both will be limited to c155mph so its just whose got the balls/happy to lose their licence.

I much prefer the drag from 30mph-100mph either 4th gear or through the gears.

If thats your idea of having a play then please keep away from me. when people speed up as I overtake them I label them as unsound and best avoided.

Did not intend to speed up as he overtook me but when he was ahead, please credit me with a little sense!

As for "taking the bait", perhaps a poor choice of phrase as I was not suggesting that the S5 was the bait but my own brain and foot combination.

The moral of the thread was that it could have easily been me or any other "spirited" driver that could have been 3, 6 or more points worse off.

I was just pleased that I restrained myself but as usual there is a lot of comments by santimonious pr*cks on here that seem never to do anything wrong.

I don't think any of us suggested we are angels, but I don't stick a thread up everytime I may drift over 70 on a private airfield.
