Hi everyone, just wondered if anyone is going to the BCA Blackbushe auction on the 5th of June. The reason i'm asking is its not everyday you get a Bugatti Veyron up for auction, also a brace of Ferrari f430's, 2 X DB9'S plus a vanquish, not your average auction i think you'll agree

I did wonder that myself but, it did say it was on behalf of Lex Autolease and Blackhorse. Mind, that's not to say they were not leased to begin with.

The Veyron's VAT qualifying suggesting it was owned by a VAT registered company. Both Ferrari's arent and have private plates suggesting private ownership, poss finance repos.

There's also a white 07 plate impreza STi that i remember seeing at BCA bedford from Blackhorse motor finance a few weeks back, so it seems that BCA has worked with the finance companies to run a dedicated saturday auction, possibly in the hope that private punters would turn up with their own cash. Just beware of BCA's steep buyers premiums for non account holders if you take the plunge. Not sure of the premium on the Veyron.......

It's a lease company/Contract hire company disposing of them. There's an ad in the current issue of Evo for the sale.

Lex and Blackhorse are the logos on the advert in the magazine.

As it says in the link, the fast car sale isn't until 1:30 but expect the place to be heaving and parking at a premium long before that.
I'm told the Veyron isn't being delivered until Friday afternoon and kept locked out of sight overnight.

Presumably they will let it out enough in advance to place the obligatory styrofoam cup on the rear spoiler, abandoned catalogue on the windscreen wipers and the half eaten hot dog on the roof before it goes through the ring.

I saw a car transporter going over the Ely roundabout from Blackbushe towards Hawley Cross on the way home from work - it had an eclectic mix of items on the back; Ferrari F430 with black wheels, Nissan Works van, AC Cobra [replica?], mini and ford focus......

I've taken 2 months off BCA driving work to mark exams but I'll pop in on Saturday.

Unbelievably, I'm told most of the regular drivers declined the option of driving it!

And, of course, the most important thing to check on such a car is to open the boot and look for the spare wheel (wherever the hell that is on a Veryon)...

The other questions are whether it will have more than the regulation auction 0.0005 litres of fuel in it to make it through and whether they'll park it outside the cafe afterwards sandwiched between two Carcraft R-reg 528i's covered in chip wrappers.

Manheim have a habit of running cars out of juice. At a sale a few months ago at Colchester they had three cars in the line up run out at the same time, in the hall and just outside.

Apparently there's some law limiting the amount of fuel allowed in cars moved by transporter. It's enough for a car delivered to a retailer but often not enough for a car that gets moved 5 or 6 times around the site, or several times that if it doesn't sell at first. The same reason so many need jump starts.

Thats bull. We mainly get cars with vapours, but when I was at Citroen, got a whole transporter of cars with at least a quarter of a tank. Auction product at that.
