Right I have Picked upa rather cheap little alfa romeo that has a few small problems.

The first problem is that the car won't stay in third gear, you can select third and hold the car in gear but as soon as you release pressure on the gear stick the car jumps out, it's fine in all other gears.

The second problem is that non of the electrics in the doors work, neither the windows or the mirrors. Anybody got any ideas or recomendations for an alfa specialist in the yokshire area?

Cheers Mat

Did electrical problems start just now or was there in the beginning (you didn't fully check the car)?

Take it back to the car dealer, no?

I bought the car knowing about the problems hence the very cheap price.

My mate has a similar gearbox issue on his 156, from memory it wasn't has expensive to fix as he initially feared. I can't remember what the problem was not, however it was £100 to fix.

As for electrics.....pass...they're german what do you expect.biggrin

I use Trentside Engineering near Shorpe, dependent on where in Yorkshire you live. Mal Nicholson is the man, a precision engineer with an extreme attention to detail. He also has strong ties with Alfa Romeo and has had for decades. His number is 01724 783506.
