Assuming we get some dry weather over the next couple of days is it worth going?
It's a big event this weekend, top fuel etc.
If I do go, anyone know what the parking's like?
Should I go in the Zed or shed?

It'll be a great event provided it dries up as expected. Seems to be some people in the stands, but no racing today.

Parking is mostly on the grass. Usually ok and the weather hasn't been bad enough to cause problems.

Definitely go. Parking is on the surrounding fields, its fairly flat and I've never seen it chewed up, so whatever you take will be okay.

Yes go.
Please go to the cafe on the far side. A good friend owns it and works very hard up there.

To anyone who's never seen Top Fuel: Go! It is the most devastating sensory overload you will experience. And when I say that, I am grossly understating it.

I had tickets for the Saturday only and sadly we got rained off ALL DAY! Which while frustrating the staff worked hard to get the strip dry and since the day was rained off we can rebook for another event for free. Can't expect them to do much about the weather!

On the bright side we still saw this:

and this

I stayed long enough to see the jet car and top fuel. Best pass was a 319 mph at 4.75 ish iirc. Seemed very fast! Wind was cold earlier on but all in all a very good way to spend a sunday.

Those Top Fuel machines need to be seen and felt to be believed. I did regret going in shorts with that wind blowing, but a quick trip to the various trade stands sorted that.

No question Andy, listing every class that impresses though would be a drawn out post! BTW watching your build with interest and excitement.
