I am really considering one, as they seem a bit of a performance bargain. Yet they are comfortable and well equipped.

I dont need it to be a B road blaster as I'll get a second car for that (mk1 MX5 possibly, but thats another thread).

What are peoples thoughts? And do they remap well?

They remap very well - I think the stock internals are rated to 400bhp.

On that vintage I think there is a sludging issue in the sump - check it's had the uprated PCV kit (I think) fitted which pretty much cures the problem.
