And loved it smilesmile

however the brain or brain and beer kicked in over the weekend smilesmilesmilesmilesmilesmile

I am wondering if I can get a manta and fit full scooby, or Evo or Cossie running gear to it ?

When I say I wonder if I can, I wonder if there is someone out there who can ?

A great swap is using the 2.2 from the Omega. They are very cheap and on TB's make decent power.

Anything can be done but I'd expect to pay around £5k to do the swap.

If you can't do it yourself I wouldn't bother.

I've had V8 and 16v Mantas and an SBD modified 16v engine makes for a quick RWD car and its a MUCH easier conversion.

Anything is possible, there is a far amount of space under the bonnet of a Manta plus it has a decent size transmission tunnel and a bit of space around the back axle.

From a personal point of view I wouldn't want to convert a Manta to 4wd, you would lose part of its old school RWD appeal.

Sound advice. Lot's of ways to achieve the same sort of outcome at similar cost with a newer car and no work. But if you love the Manta....
