God dam it I do believe I have lost the key for the `99 merc w210 and I have no spare.

It looks like the top left one in this picture...

Can anyone tell me best way to go about getting a new one, how much will it likely cost and how long does it take?

Advice appreciated.

Dealers your only hope with this, don't buy the ones off ebay saying they can be re-programmed because they can't

They are ~£170 IIRC from the dealer and take around two weeks to come, you need to take in your V5 and a form of ID

yeah, i bought a w202 c-class with the fob in the top left, i remember it being quite expensive, the only bonus is you get one of the new chrome blingy keys, quite a pain, but draw a line under it and move on!

This is one of three brand new Mercedes...

a car they say is unstealable.

Yeah, unless you get the laser-cut transponder key...

sent directly to the U.S. dealer from Hamburg.

Update....

So I phone the local MB place and they tell me I need to call in and provide to them;
1 log book
2 Passport or driving licence ID
3 utility bill showing address

They say it will cost £220 to get the new key!!!!!!!!!

BUT then he also tells me that when the key arrives with them, I have to bring the car to them to make sure it works!? Now what is the point of this or is this normal? getting a car to a garage when I have no key for the car is not going to be easy and cost even more money!

So what information exactly do they need to order a new key. Surly just the VIN number or is there more to it that that?
