I need to get a 3/4 in to 1/2 in socket adaptor today, but can't find any high street shops that sell one.

I tried halfords, b&q, screwfix. Eurocaroarts can source one but it will take two days.

Would appreciate suggestions on where else I can try !

I'm sat in a coffee shop in Guildford flat out of ideas and sick of walking everywhere I want to get my car fixed frown

"Selco...it's where the trade goes" man I hate that advert!

Do they even sell car tools?

Try searching under "Engineers Merchants" for your area.
They usually stock a large range of tools.

Buy a 1/2" driver instead?

Snapped my original 1/2 in breaker bar trying to get this f**ing bolt off smile It is covered by a lifetime guarentee but all they could offer as a replacement at short notice was a 3/4 in drive.

I'm happier with that as my original breaker bar was a quality one and obviously couldn't cope. I just needed a way to get my existing sockets onto it !

If you snapped a 1/2" than I think that a 3/4" and an adapter would be even weaker. Better of borrowing one or go to buy one use it and return it. Failing that I think wilkonsons do a cheap telescopic bar for around a fiver. I use one for in the boot for the wheels and the short handled ones are crap.

The adaptor is an impact adaptor (cost £14 !!) and seems to be pretty strong - it achieved what my 1/2" breaker bar could not biggrin
