Eight zillion horsepower
Discussion
Whilst enjoying some exceedingly spirited driving along the A259 this weekend, it occurred to me that I could have easily coped with a few more horses underneath my right foot for those occasions where you absolutely have to get past that convoy of Rovers on their way for buns and cream teas in Rye.
So, I was thinking; does anyone drive a car (that's not a Vauxhall Victor...) that is, simply, far too powerful for anything resembling normal road use? If so, did you buy/modify it knowing that and, if so...
...why?

I know of a car called the Keating TKR. It has 1800BHP and a weight of 950kgs. This is road legal although I think they turn the turbos down for the road. 0-60 in 1.67 seconds.
Other than that there are quite a lot of kit cars that have more than 500BHP per tonne and the owners say that realistically, you can't use it to its full potential unless on a track.

I realise this isn't a car, but most litre sport bikes aren't really usable to their full potential on the road. Other than that there are quite a lot of kit cars that have more than 500BHP per tonne and the owners say that realistically, you can't use it to its full potential unless on a track.

Keating TKR
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/driving/in_the_showroom/article6907138.ece"All Keating has to do now is get himself and his car to the Bonneville Salt Flats next September and prove the TKR does have what it takes to be the world’s undisputed speed king. “We’ll have a 10-mile stretch instead of the four miles at El Mirage. We should do 300mph,” Keating tells us."
Ha ha! Superb!

is this the same keating that exploded doing runs around an airport perimeter with a mere 400hp?Other than that there are quite a lot of kit cars that have more than 500BHP per tonne and the owners say that realistically, you can't use it to its full potential unless on a track.
