What is it with these?

I often do a 225 mile commute to client site and back in a day (mostly dual carriage way A road). And I see loads of these. All seem to be as badly driven as Passat's (which I've decided after many hours observation are now the worst driven vehicles on UK roads).

But so far, including some very nice hot sunny days this year, I've never ever, not once seen one of these Eos's with the roof down?

Are they just a style thing that look like they have a removable roof but are infact fixed??? confused lol or is there some even more ridiculous reason as to why their owners seem to refuse to use the open air option of their cars?

Over to you guys....

I never even see one.

I've seen about 3 since they were first made.

Wasn't there a thread about these recently? Isn't the general consensus that they all leak and VW can't fix it? Maybe most owners have resorted to a DIY solution involving silicone sealant?

Not entirely sure I ever care about other people's choices. I once saw a car with the windows wound up and it wasn't even -20 outside.

Owners do know they are convertibles, do they, and not just some "racy Golf coupe"?

90% of the folding roof cars leak! GF's new Focus CC was delayed 6 months to sort the dodgy roof issues out. Finally got it and it still leaked. To add insult to injury their answer was bathroom sealant, which on a hot day melted. So when you finally did get the roof down you were greeted with lovely streaks of stringy melted sealant on the roof and down the side of the car.

Her MGTF leaks also.. but not half as bad!
