I would drive that today, exactly as it is.

Proper modified cars these. Remember Street Machine and Custom Car magazine? Those were the days.

What engine was fitted?

I think my parents reaction to this sort of vehicle must have imprinted my fragile, 5 year old mind. I see it and I think 'the chav chariot for when Novas were new and Corsas hadn't been invented yet'

I was into Christine by Steven King around 1989 so I probably would have thought it was quite cool

I sold the car cos i got married , but it ended up 20 years later in the essex arena in a "Banger race " prob driven by a chav in a base ball cap, as for the flames it was all spray work, an it appeared in the 1989 street machine mag, for ref it was a 1957 FD victor, wid a 2.0 ltr pinto

i wish i had a picture of my first modified car.. a black mk2 fiesta with supersport arches, Zender rear spoiler and bright orange Pepperpots. I got so much stick at the time for orange wheels yet it appears to be all the rage these days especially in the Jap scene so i may have been ahead of the times?
