Driving in the UAE is.....

.... bloody terrifying. It's official.
.....unitl you start driving in the same manner
Coming back from Abu Dhabi to Dubai at rush hour this afternoon, there were 5 lanes of traffic, chock full, all travelling at 150 - 160kph, with absolutely no lane discipline whatsoever - undertaking, overtaking, swerving from inside to outside & back again, tail-gating like I have never seen before.
I started off doing my very best UK driving - keeping right where possible, good indication etc, etc - absolutely f-ing terrifying. As soon as I decided to go with the flow & drive in the same vein as the rest of them, progress was so much faster & more smooth.
Perhaps we should try it on the M25 (officially)!

Pah.
It is different, but that is all. There are only as many brain dead morons here as anywhere else. Once you accept that people will cut you up - but will expect you to cut them up also, it all works swimingly.
Essentially you need to leave your 'Britishness' at home (i.e don't let it bother you - people aren't trying to upset or beat you with their driving anyway) and just go with the flow.
