Hi folks, a simple question if I may, prompted by a top gear repeat featuring a Marcos....
Is anyone out there still doing low volume v8 sportcars? I can only think of cobra replicas...
Just wondering!
Cheers...
Corvette would be most obvious I would think. Is anyone out there still doing low volume v8 sportcars? I can only think of cobra replicas...

True.
It's currently just under 14k a year

Comparatively that's a bit less than the 2009 Boxster US sales when their sales had dropped radically. I believe the Boxster hit 200,000 production in 2006 as a yardstick.
Isn't the Weissman a straight six?

Regrettably most of the "specialists" have been swept away since the "big boys" of the motor industry decided to move into sportscars.
It's tough for 6 blokes in a shed to build cars which can compete with MX5, Elise, Boxster, Z4, Corvette, 911, Audi A8, Ferrari 458 etc.
Customer demand for expensive sportscars which can't match the engineering standards of a modern hatchback is distinctly limited.

I know the C6 is a bit of a blob but it has grown on me in recent years. Still nowhere near as pretty as either the Stingray or the C2 though.
Anyway back OT
Low volume V8's
Weismann
Marcos
Wesfield (maybe)
Morgan
Bristol
Along with a few niche kit cars I would imagine.
