Some help please!

I am looking for a car up to around £8k. Having had a number of 2 seater performance cars (VX220 Turbo, TVR Chimaera & Griffith) I am now looking for some thing that is a bit more sensible for use daily. Ideally something still rewarding to drive and not going to cost the earth to service and run. I have been thinking about an early Mini Cooper S/John Cooper Works. Any other suggestions, even out of left field would be great. Thanks in advance.

By sensible, do you mean "four seats"??

How about an E46 M3 or 330ci??
