So my business partner bought a Mustang earlier in the week, picked it up on Tuesday all was well...

He then got a call this morning from the dealership to say there has been a problem and the finance on the car (£18k) had been refused.

It isn't a major problem and he is going to go and settle the remaining balance in cash but I was astonished that they even let the car be released before everything on the finance agreement was confirmed.

He has absolutely no intention of doing this but what is to stop him from ignoring phone calls etc? Who does the car legally belong to?

Until the car is paid for, I would imagine that it's still the dealer's property. Can't believe they let it go like that though! Amazing!

That is pretty incompetent. I would say someone could lose their job over that.
