959? Pffft.

I saw a stunning Bentley Blower (at least I think it was a Blower - def a Bentley of that era) piling along the M4 at a serious rate of knots about 4pm. Simply stunning and was doing around 75!

Alas no pics as I was driving but it was on Swiss plates and might have been heading somewhere as I also saw a trailered period Roller also heading westbound around Swindonish I think.

Anyone know what's going on?

if it wasn't a blower then it's prolly not rarer than the 959 is it?

Wowsers the pedants are out tonight huh. I'm no expert on 20's Bentleys, my 1st thought was Blower and googled it when I got home. Pretty sure it was actually a Blower however I am not aware of all the Bentleys of that era.

Point being, I saw one of these behemoths piling along the M4 going faster than most traffic! Not bad for an 80 year old motor!

Back in 2003 I was part of a convoy of c. 20 vintage Bentleys (blowers, 3/4.5's, speed sixes etc) going down to Le Mans at "speed". Was one of the best things i've done. These Bentleys were built to be driven and driven hard!

I've only ever seen one of these at Goodwood, they're comfortably in my top 10 cars ever.

Awesome, that's the chap smile

Was making a hell of a noise! If it's over from Switzerland I presume there is some kind of event on, given I saw a similar trailered motor.

Just brilliant.

Quick look says less than 1000 DB5s were produced so can't be that many on the road still in the uk nowadays
