How to bypass an immobiliser??
Discussion
OK, I've been on here long enough for you to know I'm not a nasty tea-leaf. Arse, certainly. But I'm not a car thief.
I've bought a mostly-stripped out 1990 bmw 320i to race in Pbmw with.
It's had an immobiliser in it, but the sensor you tap the keyring thing to is missing, and anyway, I don't really want one.
How can I take it out?
The model is:
SHURLOK
IM/EP10
IFF Code-Plug
Immoboliser System
It's attached to the large white connecter plug on the far left of the vehicle.
Cheers,
Dan

I had one on my impreza, it drove me mad, so i ended up stripping it all out. Takes about a day, pulling all the interior out, and removing all the wires etc, but it works.
Mine was spliced in from the main power wires in the steering colum, pulled all those, rewrapped them, and it worked fine.
Mine was an aftermarket one, so if its from the factory it might be different.

I did the one on my Supra and, recently, the one on my 928. Both 3rd party not OEM. It'll be breaking the fuel pump circuit and the starter solenoid circuit so you just have to find where tose are cut and wired into the immobiliser then wire them back together. On the Supra it was deep in the dash and an absolute nightmare of a job. On the 928 it was just after the fusebox and took about a minute.

A friend of mine is doing this at the moment with a V8 540i. its an absolute pig of a job.
Good luck my friend.
if it's post -96, he might as well fudge the original immobiliser, as it's part of the ecu program. If it doesn't get a start code, it'll just sit there, so you can't just splice a wire to bypass it.Good luck my friend.
before 96, there was just a switch wire to the ecu of a grounded signal to stop it starting, plus the external circuit breaks.
Aftermarket alarms will all be circuit breaks somewhere
