Hello all.

I recently picked up an EP3 Type R, I'd wanted one for ages and it hasn't dissapointed, I love it.

Since I've got it I've fitted an AEM cold air induction and a Spoon N1 exhaust system, they free up maybe a few ponies but most importantly sound the business in VTEC angel and make the whole driving experience more involving.

I've come up across various cars from salesmen to cars that are more than just a "hot hatch" and when you take into account corners etc it's very capable and ALWAYS puts a smile on my face wink the most fun car I've ever had or driven. The gearbox is amazing, the engine is a peach and VTEC y0 just makes you feel so involved in driving the car. Going onto 3 wheels round sharp turns is fun aswell wink

But I just can't help but feeling I want more speed from it, is this normal? I don't even know what more I want it to do laugh It is the quickest car out of me and my mates, it makes me smile when driving it but I can't describe..I just want more from it? Could it be I miss RWD? (from my RX8/MR2?) or could it be just that I want more speed? Is the EP3 quick enough for a 21 year old?

I think I will be keeping it for 12 months or so, after that I'm definitely going either VX220 turbo or POrsche Boxster...swaying towards the VX at the moment. Again is it normal to want to buy a new car when you've only had your current car for a few weeks?

shoot

You don't need a faster car, you just need to learn to drive your car faster. Get some advanced tuition and you'll be amazed at how much faster you can safely cover ground afterward.

Lovely car! Got some photos up in Reader's Cars? Where in the country are you mate? I'm near Peterborough and it would be a pleasure to take you out in the GT Four and show you what a difference some advanced training makes!! biggrin

My housemate's the same - he has a Type R and fancies a bit more grunt. For all the sound and vtec (yo) he says it does lack some punch, although by no means is it a slow car.

Nice choice, by the way.

JRSC. Good for around 300bhp, that'll be enough for a while

lol. The type R is nice, but not exactly a rocket ship. Trouble these days is what else would you get? All the jap machines are starting to get a bit old, unless you want a GTR.. and 50k is a bit much of a ask for most people.

If you want something that handles then you could get something like a Clio 200, if its straight line power then any of the diesel turbos available would do that but in a more boring way.. bout time someone built a new MR2 or RX7 replacement imo.

FT-86.. Toyota.. ARE YOU LISTENING?!!

(No of course not.. but hey)

What you are seeking young man is called torque, large capacity engines have it as do forced induction engines, small capacity normally aspirated engines, however trick do not, its like Diet Drinks, Low Tar Fags, Low fat food, Low Alcohol Beer, they all suit somebody who may be happy with it but sometimes you want the full fat experience of a dirty great V8 or a turbo, or both.

I prescribe a Supercharger kit for your Honda, saw a grey one going round Anglessey Circuit on a track day, epically fast.
