Where can you get one of those dinky (illegal I know) front number plates from. Similar to the ones you see on motorbikes?

Motorbikes don't have front plates.

Well, old ones do but they're for slicing the proles in twain.

At the risk of causing offense this is utter b0llocks. Irrespective of where the car was designed (and try proving THAT one in these days of global manufacturers) if the vehicle is registered here it must comply with UK regulations.

Just remember a small front plate is 3 points and a fine, no front plate is no points and a £60 fine.

Can't get them from Craigsplates.

I know bikes don't have front plate, I mean a similar size to the ones they have in rear, but of course in white!

My front plate fell off over two weeks ago and due to lack of time I've been driving without it every day most of day , behind many police cars, past many patrols etc and the only problem I've ever had was that the guy at the petrol station didn't want to start the pump because he thought I want to nick the petrol... smile

I've read that too. The usual practice seems to be to carry a broken plate in the boot and tell the police "I knocked it off on a speed hump this morning". hehe

I suspect Veyron owners can afford to play the fine. hehe

I've had no front plate for 2 years, been stopped once and got a £60 no point fine. But that was only because my back plate was so filthy they couldn't read it.
Otherwise they don't usually notice.

Cars imported from the USA for example can get away with smaller digets (2.5" wich I think is M/C size) as the cars plate apperture only allows for that size.

Number plate offences don't carry points.
