July Road Trip
Discussion
Hi Folks, how y'all?
I have a month off coming up in July and as a last minute thought, I want to go on a 1 week road trip, taking in, amongst others, the stelvio, lake garda, monaco/riviera, nurburg, paris etc...
I have looked through PH and found plenty of information about routes etc... are you guys able to help on the musts - i.e. things like hi-vis jackets, I have also heard about (Swiss?) motorway tolls etc...
Do I need to buy these in advance? Also - will i need to make some changes to my car? It has the EU number plates?
I have never driven on mainland Europe before so any help would be much appreciated.
Finally - where do you guys think would be the best place to depart from, i.e. catch the ferry here to?
Thanks in advance

In France you are legally required to have an emergency triangle, a spare headlight bulb set and a high-vis jacket for each occupant. I'm unsure of the other countries.
I'm assuming your 1 week European road trip is a typo since you have a month off work; if not you've got a hell of a lot of driving to do in 7 days!
As for ferries, it really depends where you want to go to first. I'm planning a similar trip for next year and plan to drive to the French south coast first - Dover Calais will be fine for this with an overnight stop around Dijon and then possibly another around Annecy.
Hope this helps
