Havent reset my trip computer for 37,000 miles, average speed over that period is 32mph.

Most of my driving is B roads.

Just wondered what speed other people have averaged in their cars.

(If they have such luxuries as a trip computer!!!!)

hehe

Several friends of mine in the pub mentioned about their car's lifetime mpg figures, and were going to decimal places. I thought to myself 'these guys must be a bit anal, writing down each tanks mpg figure, adding them up and doing lifetime averages...'

Then it twigged, not everyone has an old car like me where you need a calculator to figure out the mpg.

yup, mine says 42.1mpg over the 37k, but i am pretty sure the remap cocks this up.

Mine hasn't been reset for a few thousand miles.
Average speed is 32.3 mpg
Average mpg 33.2

Most of my driving is around town, going from my house to uni and friend's houses.

Over about 280 miles, mixed motorway autobahn, A, and B roads. Sadly it lost about 1mph as I sat there trying to find the camera.

Unfortunately my car is French so the trip computer enjoys resetting itself.

Yep, a Jag. I am assured that oil loses viscosity at high temperatures, so pressure reduces at idle, and this is normal. I remember reading somewhere that the early models had a pressure sensor which did this, and so although it was fine, owners got worried, and a pressure switch was later installed instead.
