Tax / MOT question.
Discussion
My dads car has been off the road for the last 2 weeks for repairs. During this time the tax and MOT have expired, car is still insured.
It just needs 1 more thing (fit ABS pickup ring) as it wont pass an mot without it.
Is he allowed to drive it to a repair center then home then to a prebooked MOT or does it have to go to a repair center then straight to MOT then home or straight to MOT center to carry out repair and test?
For example he cant take it to a mates house to get it repaired tonight then tested tomorrow.
Thanks

Technically speaking you are only allowed to drive a car without an MOT if it is going to a garage for the MOT. As soon as the MOT station have cleared it you can go online to get the tax done as the MOT system updates live to the DVLA. Once again, technically speaking, you cannot drive an untaxed car on the roads (unless it is going to an MOT, I presume).
Bottom line is that it would be classed as an unroadworthy car so should be towed/carried to the garage for works.
