Going across to Dublin for an expo next week. Are petrol prices more expensive over the pond than in Wales? Obviously VAT is higher but not sure about duty etc!

I think I can get away with filling up just before the crossing and then filling up on the way back ...

For the past 15 years or so, fuel costs have generally been lower in the Irish Republic than the UK. Obviouisly, things are quite volatile at the moment but the UK£ has been rising against the Euro in recent weeks so that should make the fuel price differential favourable for those buying in Sterling.

Found this on an Irish website. I think it's current -

Petrol: 132.9c
Diesel: 124.9c

That would equate to around

Petrol: 110.75p
Diesel: 104.08p

I am based in Dublin. Most petrol stations are charging c.€1.349 for petrol.
Lowest I have noticed recently was €1.299 outside the city.

Diesel - no idea. Sorry.
