Phone up the BMW dealer that serviced it and they should be able to tell you if they did the work as a minimum, they wont be able to supply copy invoices unless you get the previous owners permission.

Call the dealer who did the services.

Also ask them about other work done to the car and if it has had warranty work or bodywork done by them. Accident repair/bodywork may well not show up on the general system but the dealer will have that info. Check the mileages and dates for all the work done.

So how do i find out which garage did the work? the car is 150 miles away so i want to make sure its the right one before i go look. He says its got FBMWSH, and just had inspection 2 done 2000 miles away.

whats the number for the £1 a min phoneline?

There is a premium line where you can find out everything if the car was serviced with BMW. Think it starts 090 something. £1 per min.

Don't you just ring the owner, ask where it was serviced and when and by whom, then call the respective dealers to confirm? Hardly seems like rocket science to me.

If you are really interested in the car, phone up the seller and get the service history details then phone the appropriate dealers to verify.

You can also check mileages etc from MOTs if you can get the V5 document number (I think)

Except that the number to call is a premium rate one (£1 a minute IIRC), so the chance of anyone doing something that you could do yourself is very low i'd say.

Hi Mate, I can see when it has been in the dealer, and when it has been serviced but not what it had in its service, I will fire the details over to you.

Cheers
