OH car so must be only up to a couple of years old, an estate, manual ideally, 4 wheel drive and Impreza quick? Upto 20K

I'm struggling as there isn't much - Legacy but even the spec B aren't that swift and mostly auto. S4 but a bit out of our price range I think.
I think there is a Saab 9-3 x but are people still buying nearly new Saabs?
Did they ever do a VXR8 estate?

Personally I think we should have a really nice RS2 but I know that won't go down well.

Never seen one of those I admit - different
Current Impreza is 06 so needs to be newer.
I know PH won't let me down!!

Anything better than this?

What you want is a Jap market Legacy GT-B, 2.0 turbo with 280bhp so has more power than any Impreza short of an STi. (compared to the 240bhp of the 3.0R Legacy)

Or a Forester turbo, but the Legacy is much nicer inside.

Just had a look at Litchfield's site - you may be right! We looked at a Forester STI when we bought this Impreza, too expensive at the time I think and now a bit old.

Current hatch not big enough?
Probably have to be STI, to give the same experience.
There have been engine problems with those though.
S3 Sportback?

Edit, missing word.

Size is fine, hadn't considered an S3, I'll have a look.
I have seen a couple of Evo estates but they tend to be a few years old now.
That S4 is nice but we have have to stretch the pennies a bit and have one a bit newer.
Thanks all.

A newer Impreza?

BMW Touring, but won't be AWD unless it's imported.

What is the obsessionw ith ahving a newer car. the s4 i posted would serve you as well if not better than a new car car as any little niggles it will have had (if any) will have been dealt with already so should be trouble free motoring for a good few years.
Service every 15k miles or so jobs a good un.

Not yours is it wink

No particular reason apart from that is what she would like and why not?
I want her in a reliable and safe machine and generally the newer the car the more likely this is. Note generally.

You're almost certainly right that that one would give as good service as a a 2009 car but then why does anyone buy a newer car?

As I said ideally I'd like to take out the depreciation all together and have an RS2 but it's her car at the end of it. I don't drive it that often.

Good suggestion though and not one I had found at that price level.

If it was i wouldnt be selling it. TBH i prefer the previous gen V8 version not sure why.

Was tempted to replace my tractor with one but at 50-60k miles a year the dep would be horrific and i would feel deeply guilty.

As said its your money and your choice.
