Overprotective car?
Discussion
Hi, my car has taken up a bit of an odd habit lately; when I am driving or sometimes just sitting in it the car locks itself. Sometimes it just makes the locking noise and doesn't actually manage to lock, but other times it does actually lock itself.
Also, it seems as though I can't use the key to lock it from as far a distance away as I used to be able to.
And ideas or suggestions on what is causing it/ how to fix it would be much appreciated
Thanks

I dont have a solution sorry but my fathers old car used to do the same is was a peugeot 406, 1st time it happened i was in the car with him quite frankly we freaked out and thought it had a ghost in it
it did it for a week or 2 but before my dad could look to sort it out the car was written off in an accident.

When you are locking your car from far away, if you are out of range point the key into your mouth, then press the button. It works in increasing the range, trust me.
I do that sometimes but i point it at the side of my temple next to my eye's SWMBO goes nut's she thinks im frying my brain or something (probably am actually) No idea why it works though!!.ZOLLAR said:

I'll risk getting flamed on here and admit I did used to think it was quite cute hence the title, but now it's getting a bit annoying

my mum refused to use the car after my dad told her perhaps she was right in doing so as i said couple weeks after it started my dad was involved in a head on collision (although that was nothing to do with the self locking car just to put your mind to rest
